Now that we have one Charter Review Commission meeting under our belt, and we know more about how the Charter Review Commission will be organized, we (the Charter Review Task Force) are going to have a meeting to organize a bit for the Charter Review meetings. We will brainstorm about potential amendments to the Charter and will come up with a plan for presenting some of those potential amendments at the January 26 meeting.
Here are the meeting details:
Come with your ideas!
I'll try to attend the Task Force meeting on Monday. One important matter that I'll address if I'm there is the Commission schedule. I understand the CC will be meeting 2nd and 4th Mondays. That rhythm will definitely make it impossible for me to attend any session, and others are likely in the same boat. Does the Task Force have a master list of all "regularly scheduled meetings"? Would "1st and 3rd" weeks (or some other rhythm) work out better to make the process more accessible for broad public observation and input? I thank the Task Force for being a clearinghouse for input about both procedure and charter function(s).
ReplyDeleteThe commission debated at great length about when and where meetings would be held. I suspect that the current schedule is subject to change, especially if the workload increases, as it almost certainly will. They anticipate having to meet three times a month.
DeleteOne of the features of this Charter Review Task Force is to help organize who can attend which commission meetings, and make sure the gallery is consistently as full as possible, and to share news, information, proceedings (including full audio coverage) for people who cannot attend.
